“So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God” (Rom. 10:17). ALL Scripture is God breathed (2 Tim. 3:16). The Bible is our ‘daily’ bread (Matt. 6:11). So why not make an attempt to hear ALL the Bible in 120 days flat starting from Sept 1, 2018 and finishing it up before the year ends, Dec 31, 2018 (four months; each month has 30 days approx and four months means 120 days). The Bible also has 1200 chapters approximately (1189 to be exact). That means if we hear 10 chapters of the Bible daily, we can finish hearing ALL of the Bible in 120 days! Simple math! Uncomplicated way to hear ALL of the Bible being read to us! Why not start today?

From a wooden pulpit Ezra read to all the people the law of the Lord (the Bible of his time). The people stood there listening from early morning till mid-day. Check this out in Nehemiah 8, a gripping Bible chapter. Paul wanted his spiritual son to focus on the public reading of Scripture (I Tim. 4:13). This provides a biblical precedence (from both Old Testament and New Testament) to something I am going to recommend in this piece.

Thanks to youtube, we have entire Bible books being read to us in audio various versions – KJV, NASB (most literal), ESV, NIV, NLT, The Message (paraphrase in newspaper English), etc.The audios of all the sixty six books of the Bible are already there on youtube as separate videos. These show up when we search Youtube by the book’s name with the word audio added. For example if you want to hear the audio version of the book of Galatians on Youtube type on the search space this: Galatians audio. If you want a specific version of Galatians audio make it this way: Galatians audio ESV. For example, the book of Esther (which has 10 chapters) read out load in Youtube is a video of about half hour – see this link – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Fh9zyh4jdU – and you will know. Of course, some Bible chapters are tad longer. So a listening of the audio of 10 chapters of the Bible being read would take about 30 to 45 mins on average. Bible apps like Youversion (which can be downloaded both in apple phones and andriod) also have the audio listening option. One way to do it is to go for 30-45 mins walk listening to the audio Bible via Youtube or Youversion through headphones. Or you can stay at home, check into a quiet corner and do the same. You can place your IPad with Youtube playing audio Bible on the fridge and keep cooking and listening!

On an average day, we do so many things that last more than 30 to 45 mins, like watching streaming shows (which are often steamy), gossip (the gossip which does not include a morsel of the Gospel), watching Big Boss (time going for a toss), watch live cricket, ……. (you fill these blanks) etc. Why not for a change listen to Word of God being read out loud to us so that our inner man may be built up (Eph. 3:16)? Will you start today and have the joy of hearing all of the Bible before the year ends? You can!

Duke Jeyaraj was born to missionary parents in Vellore, South India and was saved at the age of 11 and committed for ministry and received the Holy Spirit Baptism at the age of 13. God opened the door for him to preach first as a school boy at the age of 16. He is a trained Agricultural Engineer [B. Tech from SHIATS, Allahabad, India], who did not pursue a career in the line of his education but nevertheless enjoys growing cacti in the balcony of his rented Chennai flat, during his spare time! He could have been a sports commentator but prefers to wrap Bible Truth around sports magic moments and other interesting-to-Google Genners contemporary events. God’s call upon him made him utterly restless and he obeyed that call to by founding the Grabbing the Google Generation from Gehenna Mission (G4 Mission) in 2006 to finally find serenity after having served as a International Bank Customer Service Executive/Youth Pastor/Bible College Teacher/Missionary/Youth Mag Editor. G4 Mission is not a church but an inter-denominational ministry to present-day people, a ministry which Duke works full time for, as an itinerant presenter/preacher/writer-at-residence since 2008 along with his wife, putting to use the formal theological training he received from Southern Asia Bible College in Bangalore-India [M. Div - a Gold Medal performance in 2001 & Doctor of Ministry - with project on Making Disciples of Modern Young Working Professionals Among India's Google Generation, World-wide]. Several Christian publications have carried Duke's articles over the years and at present Aim Magazine (the voice of  the Evangelical Fellowship of India an umbrella body of over 65,000 Indian churches/organisations), regularly carries Duke's writings. Duke's Bible-teaching book on Sex, Love, Marriage, Porn and more called, Straight Talk, is presently available on Amazon and Google Books.  Duke has preached by invitation beyond his national borders (we are talking about nations such as Bangladesh, Singapore, Germany, Nepal and the United Arab Emirates). Duke is called a 'Reverend' by a leading denomination (even as his ministry remains indepedent and inter-church).  Duke is called ‘dad’ by Dale (now a St. Stephen's Delhi student) and Datasha (now in Class 9) and ‘hubby’ by Evangelin (the daughter of a missionary couple to Odisha who is a hospital admin grad currently studying M. A. in Biblical Studies with SAIACS Bangalore) and calls Chennai, India, his current home after living in Hyderabad till June 2021. In case your curiosity is triggered by hearing all this, you may checkout www.dukewords.com [if you are the reading plain text type], www.soundcloud.com/shoutaloud [if you are part of the audio-listening tribe] and www.youtube.com/visitduke [if you group yourself with the video-steaming generation])
