Whenever there is a talked about new phone being launched, this thought comes to me. That the best things thing the world has to offer cannot satisfy us fully ever. Now we have the IPhone 11, the IPhone 11 Pro, IPhone 11 Pro Max and IPhone whatnot. But soon we will get quickly get bored and wait for the next IPhone to arrive next September. We may have the latest IPhone in our hands the day it is launched but it is the same old story of “I-Pine” – we get quickly bored with it and start pining for the next updated version. I enjoy using the IPhone – don’t get me wrong. Someone gifted me one the other day. I am grateful for the same. But the larger point is best expressed by Jesus himself: “A man’s life does not lie in the abundance of the things he possesses” (Luke 12:15). It lies in relating with Jesus him who came to life – life to the full (John 10:10).
